I’m very pleased to share a very special finish today — Evening in the Park by Chatelaine.
This was started on 28 December 2016 and finished on 31 December 2024, making it a long-term project and such a lovely finish to close out the year.
I stitched this using the called-for threads on 25 count Brittney Lugana from Hand Dyed Fabric by Stephanie in the colourway Abyss. The fabric works beautifully with the soft evening tones of the design, giving the whole piece a really atmospheric feel.
I really enjoyed watching all the different areas come together — the swans, the lamps, the trees, the decorative borders, and all those beautiful Chatelaine details. There is so much to look at in this piece, and it feels very special to finally see it completed.

This was such a rewarding project to finish after having it as a work in progress for several years. Chatelaine designs always have so much detail and elegance, and this one really does have a beautiful evening garden feel.
