Well, I did it ….. I made my very first quilted bag, and I couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out!
This is the Crafter’s Carry-All by Quilters Trading Post, made up in the most gorgeous Tula Pink fabrics from her Nightshade Déjà Vu range. I started it on 28 August 2025 and finished on 22 September 2025 — and it taught me a thing or two along the way!
It was also the very first project I’ve quilted on my new Brother V5 LE machine, which I’m still happily getting to know. I’ll be honest with you, some parts were a little tricky, and I managed to get the handles wrong (Didn’t realise until it was all put together, thats fine I don’t mind it’s only mine). But that’s all part of the learning, isn’t it?
I couldn’t have got there without my lovely quilty friend Suzy, who hopped on video calls to talk me through the bits where I got myself in a muddle. Thank you, Suzy what would I do without you. 💛
And the result? I absolutely love it. There’s something extra special about a first finish, especially one you’ve had to wrestle with a little. Onto the next one!
