      2021 PROJECT TRACKING & PLANNING

You just have to love a Spring finish on a sunny day!

I have been working on my The Cricket Collection – Spring as a focus piece and commuting project.
    Cricket Collection, Spring

I decided at the start of the project to stitching using the called for DMC threads, but wanted to use a different fabric. I settled on a lovely evenweave fabric from Chromatic Alchemy – Spring at Lakeside.

I loved the spring like mottled colours of the fabric and thought it would work well with the theme of this design.

This has been a lovely change to what I am use to stitching, and each letter with the cute details has been like a mini finish each time. This chart has very little back stitch so perfect for a bit of stitching on-the-go.

All the lovely design details of this chart make it so perfect for spring. It is not until you are stitching the design that you see all the little fun add-on’s of this design with the little snail at the bottom of the “S” and with all the lovely different flowers and cute birdies and bird house.

I can’t wait to make a start on the Summer chart now!

Now I just have to look at getting this fully finished. I think this will be displayed on a small easel as a flat finish, that way I can switch out the seasons as and when I get them completed.

With so much choice of fabrics and threads I think I may use the same fabric for the Summer chart and convert to the Silks4U silk threads. I think that will work well on these designs.

I have loved working on this piece and watching it slowly emerge letter by letter. A fabulously fun stitch!
