I’m very pleased to share my first ever machine embroidery project the Hoppin’ Down the Bunny Trail Bench Pillow by Kimberbell.
This was such a fun project to work on, A little challenging at times for a beginner, but watching a few youtube videos of others uncovered some of the mysteries. This bench pillow has so many sweet little details throughout the design. I love the mix of machine embroidery, appliqué, quilting, buttons, bows, trims, and embellishments. Every section has something charming to look at, and it really does feel like a proper springtime project.

A closer look at the design
One of the things I enjoyed most about this project was how much detail there is across the whole pillow. The little Bunny Trail sign, the carrot house, the mushroom house, the tiny washing line, the bees, ladybird, bunnies, and all the little flowers and garden details make it such a cheerful piece.
It is one of those projects where you keep spotting something different each time you look at it. I also really like how the quilting adds texture to the background without taking away from the appliqué and embroidery.

The finishing details
The embellishments really bring this piece to life. I love the little buttons on the mushroom house, the twine bows, the mini pegs, and all the extra details that make it feel so dimensional. It has that lovely Kimberbell style where the project becomes more than just embroidery — it turns into a proper finished decorative piece.
This was such a cheerful project to make, and I’m really pleased with how it turned out. It has a lovely springtime feel, and all the little embellishments bring the design to life beautifully.
Now I want to do another one!
