What can I say! This was the most unexpected finish of a full coverage WIP, totally unplanned but so happy right now!
My Heaven and Earth Design piece (QS Grace Face 2 by Josephine Wall) was a very old and drawn out WIP – I started her on 31st August 2015 and put the last stitch in her today 9th September 2018.
I am over the moon to be able to say she is a finish – she has already had a bath and I can’t wait to get her to the framer so she can hang on my wall.
This piece is 175 stitches x 233 stitches (7 inches x 9 1/4 inches based on 25 ct fabric) I decided to stitch this piece on 18ct magic guide aida.
I had no intentions of stitching on her, until Friday following a stitchy chat with my friend Donna who convinced me to take on a challenge of 500 stitches on her this weekend – 500 stitches turned into something closer to 1770 stitches with confetti stitching.
This was one of those pieces that you stitch a bit, put down for a bit, then stitch a little more – needless to say she was put down a bit more than she was stitched a bit lol!
I thought she would never end with all the confetti.
This was the starting point on Friday night when I dusted her off and got her ready for the 500 stitches weekend challenge lol! Maybe I should do it more often.
Wow! Just beautiful! You inspire me to keep stitching on! What is a confetti stitch?

Hi Thelma! thank you for your lovely comment. Confetti stitching is when you have a very large amount of colours in a 10 x 10 block so requiring a lot of colour changes on the needle – hence called confetti.
Thank you! I aspire to your talent!
What an accomplishment! That is amazing! So inspired by this finish. I’m working on Spring because of you. But have let it sit for various lazy reasons. This will make me pick it back up. Cuz if you can finish something like this well then I have no excuse! Wowsers!?
Absolutely stunning!!!! Big congratulations to you 🙂
Hurrah! Well done and I like forward to your excited Flosstube telling us all about it.
