This one was stitched with a lot of love a Christmas stocking for my lovely boss, David!
It’s a Shepherd’s Bush Christmas stocking (the kit came from The Nimble Thimble in the UK), personalised with David’s name. I started it on 15 June 2023 a little early for Christmas, I know! Finished the stitching (FO’d) on 27 July 2023, and fully finished it (FFO’d) into a proper stocking on 21 August 2023.
I stitched it on 18 count natural linen with perle cotton threads, and oh, what a joy it was! I absolutely loved working with the perle cotton, and the fabric has lovely big holes so kind on the eyes and the needle. It turned out to be another brilliant commuting stitch, perfect for popping in my bag for the train.
There’s something extra special about stitching a gift for someone every stitch has a little thought of them in it. I do hope David loves his stocking as much as I loved making it! 🎄
