Some finishes are extra sweet because they’ve been a long time in the making and this is most definitely one of them!

This is Summer ABC’s by Little House Needleworks, a design I started way back on 24 August 2021. It became one of those lovely projects I’d pick up and put down… but I’m so pleased to say I finally finished the stitching (FO’d) on 14 June 2023, and then fully finished it (FFO’d) into Cupboard display which is actually a toilet roll cupboard buy from amazon on 7 July 2023.

I stitched it on 32cnt Belfast Linen, in colourway Tudor Rose by Polstitches I substituted almost all the threads Bamboo – S4U PR053, Honeycomb – SNC 077, Blushing Beauty (called for ) Gingerbread – S4U 4 April 2019, Hickory Sticks (Called for), Nature Trail – Dinky Dye Salt Bush, Pine Needles – DMC 3011, Cherry Tomato – Classic Colourworks Apple Fritta, Wagon Wheel – S4U 05 Jan 2019.
Then came one last decision…. the finishing fabric! I dithered for a good while, completely torn on which colour would set it off best. So I did what any stitcher would do… I asked you lovely lot over on Flosstube! 😄 It came down to either the green or the red, and with your help I finally made up my mind.

With the colour settled, I fully finished it (FFO’d) on 7 July 2023.

There’s something so satisfying about finally finishing a piece that’s waited patiently in the basket and turning it into something I can actually enjoy and display. Thank you to everyone who helped me choose. This was a Flosstube team effort, and a happy finish indeed! 🌼
