At last the rain arrived in the south of England! (much needed for the flowers).
With so much sun and heat my stitching declined dramatically over the last couple of months, making staying indoors impossible and stitching was non existent until Sunday (phew).
This weekend I have had the pleasure of watching the rain from the window watering my flowers and allow me to put my feet up, sit back and stitch for a whole day, what a pleasurable day I had with my Chatelaine (Evening in the park) and a cuddle with my fur baby whilst doing so.
I feel the progress was good for a day of stitching, managing to complete 2 more of the 4 swans and a bit more of the beading done. This piece has opening the doors to enthusiasm to stitch again and reminded me what it is to actually sit and relax. Gardening is not so much relaxing and more rewarding in weeks to come with the pruning and feeding and weeding lol! But with all that hard work already done over the weeks, there was no guilt felt sitting indoors with my needle in hand.

3 swans a swimming

a little more beading

Swan completed – I am not backstitching as it doesn’t show up

moving on from the swan
Lovely to hear your stitchy progress on your beautiful Chatelaine.. Yes, the rain and fresher air have been a relief…even up here on Teesside it’s been too darn hot and the grass is parched . You are so right, gardening is pleasurable but not relaxing.

Hi Shirley thank you for stopping by! Yes much more fresh and comfortable – but a very pleasurable change to be stitching than knee deep in dirt and weeds lol! Hope your grass has enjoyed a drink of the water.
Hi Teresa!
My goodness, you have come so far from those first videos where you were just learning how to cross stitch. Your specialty stitches are beautiful! Your stitching is so pretty. Love this Chatelaine. I always look forward to your updates.
Evening in the Park looks gorgeous Teresa. Thanks for showing your progress. I just can’t stitch in the heat either so the weekend was a lovely break but now I want the heat back. Never happy ! 🙂
What beautiful work you have stitched. There is something very calming about those swans, and combined with the lovely fabric color there is an overall sense of peace. It was 38°C here yesterday, so I understand how uncomfortable it must be for you. I love working in the garden, but in the summer it can be brutal.
